The Diamond Mystery Box was a red cube with three doors. One door had a star on it, one door had a crescent moon on it and the third door had a diamond shape on it. The lid of the box itself bore an image that resembled a ruby ring or a jeweled crown; there were also several pieces of jewelry in the box’s interior.
It is unclear how this box came to be in the hands of Miss Fortune after she left her home country.
Miss Fortune had received the Diamond Mystery Box from her mother as a present upon graduating from school. Her mother said that the contents would tell Miss Fortune what kind of life she should lead, but Miss Fortune never opened the box to find out what was inside.
Instead, Miss Fortune kept the box safe in her room for fear that someone else might steal its mysterious secrets. During the events of Dragon Quest IX, Miss Fortune’s brother, Tiki, stole the Diamond Mystery Box and used it as part of his plot to take over Fortuna Village before being stopped by Celes, who returned the box to Miss Fortune.
She then used the Diamond Mystery Box to contact Gogo Yubari and asked him to help her defeat Kuzuki Yatogami and save the world.
After defeating Yatogami at the end of the game, Miss Fortune and her party are invited to a feast hosted by Lady Lettie. As they are enjoying their meal, Miss Fortune’s maid, Mavis, receives a call from Miss Fortune and rushes off to meet her mistress.
There, the two women discover that a young boy named Ranta has arrived in town looking for Miss Fortune, whom he believes is Lady Lettie. After some arguing about why Miss Fortune should go out of her way to help the boy, the two women agree to let him stay in the mansion until Miss Fortune returns.
On her next visit to the palace, Miss Fortune finds that the Diamond Mystery Box is missing. Upon investigation, she discovers that her maid, Mavis, stole the box and fled the capital with Ranta, leaving only a note saying that the Diamond Mystery Box could not be found in Miss Fortune’s possession.
Lady Lettie claims that she herself stole the Diamond Mystery Box from Miss Fortune’s room in order to use it as leverage against her daughter if things ever went poorly between them, but Miss Fortune denies having seen the box since she graduated from school.
Lady Lettie goes on to say that Miss Fortune’s brother, Tiki, stole the box from her and gave it to her so that she could use its magic to control Miss Fortune. Miss Fortune then uses the Diamond Mystery Box’s magic to locate her missing maid and bring her back to the palace.
In the process, she finds evidence that suggests that her brother had stolen the box in the first place. When she confronts him, she learns that he stole the Diamond Mystery Box in order to lure Miss Fortune into using its power to save the world instead of saving the kingdom.
In the aftermath of the battle, Miss Fortune finds that her brother has fled the capital again, along with the Diamond Mystery Box. She then realizes that she cannot trust anyone in Fortuna. She then decides to leave the capital behind forever and return to her homeland of Palma. However, her friend, Gogo Yubari, convinces her otherwise and makes plans to accompany her back through the portal. They arrive in the country of Alcaire, which is currently under attack by a demon army.
During the events of Dragon Quest XI, Miss Fortune has become the ruler of Fortuna Village and serves as the regent of the kingdom of Alcaire. Her brother, Tiki, now works as her personal magician.
She wears a green dress with white trim around the bottom hem and collar. The collar ends at a point, and the sleeves are long and slightly flared. There are three buttons down the front of the bodice and no visible fastenings on the skirt. The dress appears to be made from a light green fabric, and the material appears to have a pattern reminiscent of ivy leaves.
She wears a headband adorned with three gold stars at the base of her forehead and a black ribbon tied above her hair. She carries a parasol that is decorated with a red ribbon and has a gold handle. She wears a pair of gloves that resemble those worn by young men in the capital.
Miss Fortune has a personality that is more reserved than most people. She is normally calm, collected, and very professional. Despite this, however, she does show bursts of anger when she thinks something is unfair or unjust. Miss Fortune is also very loyal to her family and friends.
While she has grown up with the idea that everyone in the city hates her, she still wants to protect them from harm. Though she may seem cold and distant sometimes, she truly cares about others.
She was born and raised in the capital of Fortuna and has always been treated like an outcast because of her appearance. However, she has learned how to deal with it and has grown up to be stronger than many assume.
Miss Fortune, while being very serious most of the time, has a good sense of humor. During the events of Dragon Quest VIII, she is shown to be able to laugh at herself.
Miss Fortune is very stubborn. She will often refuse to listen to what other people have to say and will continue to do whatever she thinks is right even after they try to convince her to change her mind. This attitude is something that her brother, Tiki, sees as a weakness.
Miss Fortune is capable of controlling the Diamond Mystery Box, which allows her to utilize its powers. It is unknown exactly how she acquired this ability; however, it is possible that she inherited it from her brother, who is a master of magical arts.
Miss Fortune seems to be a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and is able to easily defeat several soldiers during the events of Dragon Quest IX. She can also wield a weapon proficiently, such as a staff.

Miss Fortune’s maid, Mavis, is a redheaded woman who has worked for Miss Fortune all throughout her life. She is quite protective of Miss Fortune and is willing to do anything to help her mistress.
Mavis is usually depicted wearing a white dress and a blue hat. She wears a pair of shoes that match her outfit. The bottom half of her dress has a similar color scheme to her hat, but the top has a yellow flower design. The style of her dress resembles that of the maids in the capital.
The Diamond Mystery Box is Miss Fortune’s favorite possession. She would rather die than lose it.
After the events of Dragon Quest VIII, Miss Fortune becomes very fond of Mavis and treats her like a daughter.
In Dragon Quest XI, Miss Fortune reveals that she doesn’t really know much about Mavis’s past, and asks her if there is anything she needs to tell her. Mavis says nothing.
Miss Fortune’s best friend, Gogo Yubari, has convinced her to stay in Alcaire and not flee the country because of the threat of demons. She is uncertain of whether she should trust Gogo, though, since she has acted strangely ever since the events of the Great War of the Races.
Miss Fortune is quite self-conscious about her looks. She is unsure of how beautiful she actually is and feels insecure about her body. Her hair is also something she dislikes and tries to cover up.
Miss Fortune is very knowledgeable when it comes to magic. She is able to use various spells and knows how to manipulate the Diamond Mystery Box effectively.
